The federal energy tax credits have expired

Costs and payback figures on this page may still assume a federal credit that no longer exists. The 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit (25D) and the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (25C) both ended for property placed in service after 31 December 2025, and the home EV charger credit (30C) ended after 30 June 2026. Assume no federal credit on work done today.

City Electrification Guides

Hyperlocal guides with real costs, utility-specific rebates, and ROI calculations for your city. Get accurate payback estimates based on local electricity rates and incentive programs.

Why City-Specific Guides Matter

Electrification ROI varies dramatically by location. San Diego's 31¢/kWh electricity makes solar pay back in 4 years, while Austin's Austin Energy rebates cover 100% of EV charger costs. Boston's oil heating makes heat pumps save $1,900/year.

Each guide includes your utility's rebate programs, local electricity/gas rates, climate-specific equipment recommendations, and complete cost breakdowns with realistic payback periods.
