About ElectrifyHome

We help homeowners cut through the noise and make smart, data-driven decisions about home electrification.

Our Mission

Home electrification is confusing. Should you install solar first or a heat pump? Will you need a panel upgrade? Which contractors can you trust? What rebates are you actually eligible for?

We built ElectrifyHome to answer these questions with free planning tools, honest guides, and real-world data — not sales pitches.

Who we are, and what we are not

A small independent team with an engineering background, not a contractor and not a media company. Nobody here holds a US electrical licence, and nothing on this site replaces an assessment by someone who does. We are not tax advisers either.

So the honest version of what we offer is narrower than most sites in this space claim, and more checkable. We do the arithmetic in public, against primary sources, and we show when each one was last verified. Where a number is modelled rather than measured, we say so. Where we have not sourced something yet, we say that too, on the methodology page, which also lists everything this site has got wrong and when we fixed it.

That page exists for a reason. For months this site told American homeowners they would get 30% of a solar installation back from a federal credit that had already been repealed, and it did the same arithmetic across roughly 110 pages. We found it, fixed it, and wrote down exactly what happened rather than quietly editing it away. If you are deciding whether to trust a cost estimate, that log will tell you more than any badge would.

We currently earn nothing from this site: no affiliate links, no advertising, no lead selling, nothing behind a paywall. The intention is eventually to earn a fee for connecting homeowners with local electricians, and we would rather tell you that now than after it happens. Until you are explicitly asked to agree to it, your details are not going anywhere.
